Babaomby Island Lodge
Created by Nicolas Martin, Babaomby Island Lodge is the historic hub of the Emerald Sea. It offers accommodations overlooking the lagoon, along with a restaurant and a kitesurfing & windsurfing center.
Wake up each morning to the stunning Emerald Sea by staying in one of our 10 bungalows, each boasting breathtaking views of the lagoon. Built on stilts with wooden structures and traditional leaf roofs, every bungalow features a small terrace with lounge chairs for relaxation.
Inside each bungalow, you’ll find large African-style tents sourced from South Africa, originally designed for lodges in African parks.
We offer two types of bungalows:
- Double bungalows: Ideal for one or two people.
- Family bungalows: Perfect for groups of three or four.
Babaomby Island Lodge provides four shared bathrooms equipped with electricity. Each bathroom includes a sink, a hot-water shower, and separate toilets.
The Restaurant, Bar, and Lounges at Babaomby Island Lodge
At Babaomby Island Lodge, we emphasize conviviality and interaction between guests and our on-site team. That’s why we set a single large table each day, encouraging everyone to dine together—and our staff often joins the meal!
The restaurant is perched just above the kitesurfing/windsurfing center on a small hill, offering breathtaking views of the lagoon. On either side of the restaurant, a bar and two small lounges provide perfect spots for relaxation and sharing stories about the day’s adventures.
Our restaurant serves exclusively fresh, local products daily. Enjoy freshly caught fish by Lita, our fisherman, as well as zebu, shrimp, market vegetables, seasonal fruits, and more.

Babaomby Island Lodge offers phone coverage, Wi-Fi, and electricity, allowing you to recharge your devices (phones, cameras, laptops, GoPro, etc.) even in this idyllic and secluded setting.
