Miorha RANDRIANOMANANA

"I was a Spanish teacher and Spanish-speaking tour guide for about 8 years, and now I design trips. It’s not just a job, it’s a passion! I’m a big fan of trekking, and I believe that discovering Madagascar's exceptional nature and landscapes on foot is the best way to experience them. The Makay Massif is my next goal!

At Détours Madagascar, I’ve found a new family. The friendly, laid-back, and welcoming work atmosphere makes me feel at ease and helps me be even better at completing my tasks. I hope to achieve great things thanks to my seriousness, dynamism, ability to learn, and my command of the Spanish language."

If I were an office tool, I would be the headset, not used much.

If I were a word to describe my career at Détours, I would be "old," as I grew up with Détours Madagascar.

If I were a Détours trip, I would be Expedition Madagascar. This trip takes us on almost a full tour of the big island: the central highlands, the essentials of the west and the Bemaraha Tsingy, the coastal route from Andavadoaka to the west, the legendary southern route along National Route 7, a train ride on the Fianarantsoa-East Coast line to the Pangalanes Canal, and along the Indian Ocean.  If I were a Détours traveler, I would be Didier CARCELES, with whom I exchanged a lot because I was his travel advisor, and who has become a friend. He also did the Détours trip I like the most.

If I were a region, I would be Menabe, especially Morondava for its baobabs and its sunshine.

If I were a village, I would be a village near Bevoay, in southwestern Madagascar, because it has both the river and the sea nearby.

If I were a landscape, I would be a waterfall to generate electricity. In addition to the beauty of my fall, I am useful to everyone.

If I were a plant, I would be an orchid because my flowers take patience to cultivate.

If I were an endemic animal, I would be a Fosa because it’s nocturnal.

If I were a month of the year, I would be January, the month my daughter was born.  If I were a means of transport, I would be a coaster bus for its size and comfort.

If I were an element of nature, I would be air because it’s one of the most essential sources of life.

If I were a travel accessory, I would be a passport; you can’t afford to forget me when traveling.

If I were food, I would be tacos because I have a lot of ingredients and various sauces. Everything is in there.

If I were a sound, I would be silence because right now I am learning how to be silent. Silence is intriguing.

If I were a language, I would be Spanish because it’s an easy language to speak.

If I were a sport, I would be yoga because you don’t need to run to practice it.

If I were a quality, I would be sociability because one cannot live without society.

If I were a flaw, I would be a strong character, which I see as a flaw, but it doesn’t harm me; I actually like being told that.

If I were a Malagasy personality, I would be Paul Rabary because he provides insightful analysis, has a debating ability that I admire, the rationality of his arguments, solid reasoning, and a high-level understanding of the realities of the country.
