Kitesurfing

Whether you’re an experienced or expert kite surfer, or just looking to learn the basics, we can design a tailor-made trip exclusively for you, centered around this exciting sport.

Madagascar is renowned for kitesurfing, with numerous spots scattered across the island.

Northern Madagascar

In the north, Diego-Suarez boasts two exceptional sites that are highly popular among kite surfers.

  •         Sakalava bay: Stretching 2.2 km, Sakalava bay is protected by a coral reef. At low tide, much of the bay is shallow, making it a safe and easy spot for beginners to learn kitesurfing. For more advanced kite surfers, reef waves are easily accessible. The warm, turquoise waters make this a stunning and wild destination. With stable winds from April to November and strong winds from June to October, the bay is suitable for kitesurfing almost year-round.

  •         Emerald Sea: Located on the Indian Ocean, this spot is famous for its lagoon, known as the Emerald Sea, considered one of the most beautiful in the world. Strong winds blow from April to mid-November, making it a must-visit spot in Madagascar for those seeking tranquility. It offers a friendly, paradise-like atmosphere for kitesurfing enthusiasts. Advanced kite surfers can enjoy surfing a spectacular wave offshore and have fun riding strapless.

Eastern Madagascar

On the idyllic island of Sainte-Marie, a newly established kitesurfing spot welcomes beginners and advanced riders alike. A beautiful lagoon provides the perfect setting, with the best conditions from April to September.

Southwestern Madagascar

In the southwest, Anakao offers three kitesurfing sites in close proximity:

  • The Lagoon: With turquoise waters, it’s ideal for beginners or freestyle enthusiasts.
  • Flame bowls: Perfect for those who love wave riding.
  • Jelly babies: A sharp wave spot recommended for experienced riders.

Other spots are also accessible in the southern region, such as Lavanono, a world-renowned wave spot located along the route between Tuléar and Fort Dauphin.

Every spot is unique, offering something for every skill level. Whether you’re traveling with family or friends, additional activities are available to ensure everyone’s happiness. Each location features breathtaking landscapes, turquoise waters, white sand, and pleasant temperatures. No need to pack your 4/3mm wetsuit—just enjoy the warmth and the thrill of kitesurfing in Madagascar!
