Countless harmless and adorable animals

Exceptional flora

Magnificent and astonishing plant species

With lush and verdant vegetation, this protected area is home to an impressive collection of evergreen plants: epiphytes (plants growing on other plants), mosses, ferns, bamboos, palms, hardwoods and precious woods, pandanus, and vines. The park is also famous for its orchids, with 120 species identified, all of which are endemic. They bloom between September and January.

Vegetation that never lacks water

The park is home to a sacred lake, a natural pool, an impressive sacred waterfall, and several major rivers. The Vohitra River notably supplies the Andekaleka hydroelectric dam, which powers the capital and surrounding areas. Let’s not forget, this is part of Madagascar’s Eastern rainforest!

How to visit the park?
